Bowhunters Of New Brunswick (Background Information)

The Bowhunters Of New Brunswick (B.O.N.B) is a non profit organization of the Province's bow hunters. It was formed in 1996 with the purpose of giving the bow hunters in the province an organization to:

Represent all bow hunters in the province

Promote the sport of bow hunting in New Brunswick

Voice bow hunter concerns to D.N.R.&E.

Encourage co-operation between all hunters

Preserve, promote and defend our hunting heritage

Support Bow Hunter Education (NBEF)

Aspire to excellence in bow hunting and archery

B.O.N.B. is a registered organization with Corporate and Consumer Affairs, and files a tax return with Revenue Canada. We have no paid employees as all work is done on a volunteer basis. The funds needed to operate are raised from:

Membership Fees

Ticket Sales

Auctions

Suppers

Donations

We distribute a quarterly news letter "From The Treestand" to all members.
B.O.N.B. encourages all members and all bow hunters to contribute their input to the organization. As a bow hunter, your views and participation are important to us as they provide the basis for all our efforts.
B.O.N.B. is involved in the following activities:

Bow Hunter Clinics to help novice and seasoned bow hunters in hunting techniques and equipment set up.
Development of a Provincial Bowhunter Handbook to provide a guide to the Province's bow hunting regulations.
Attend Sport Shows in the province to provide some exposure for bow hunting.
Implementing Wildlife Habitat Improvement projects to rehabilitate specific areas lacking the basic requirements to support healthy wildlife populations.
Support all groups with archery and bow hunting demonstrations.
Sponsorship of archery equipment rental for A.A.N.B. clubs.
Annual supper and auction.
B.O.N.B. Annual 3D Shoot.

The Bowhunters Of New Brunswick is currently and affiliated member of the Archers Association Of New Brunswick (AANB) and works with this organization to promote the sports of archery and bow hunting in New Brunswick.
